The ink well was loaned to the museum by Mr. David Askett, of Washago, Ontario. X-ray fluorescence analysis indicates it is neither Mallorytown nor Redwood glass. It has a Mallorytown connection in that it was purchased by a member of Mr. Askett’s family at an auction sale in Mallorytown in the 1950s.
